Bauvill were appointed to deliver the full CAT-B fit out of a 5,000m2 commercial office and warehouse under a design & build contract, home to Berry Gardens the largest soft fruit farm in Europe.

Context & Planning

Due to the scale of these premises and scope of works, materials availability and adequate labour were the main priority during the planning phases, ensuring that we could deliver sufficient resource throughout the busy and often complex programme of works. Bauvill’s logistics manager and buyer worked directly with the client team to ensure that no stone was left unturned as we approached the contractor occupation date. Building a strong working relationship with the client’s project management team allowed for the collaborative planning of all aspects in approach to this project, with particular focus on the level of finish and durability to ensure the final product was both fit for purpose and would last for years to come. In addition to the level of finish required, considerations were made for implementing energy efficient solutions where possible to enable the brand to operate with a reduced environmental impact.

Major Works

During the works phase, over a mile of various partitioning was installed coupled with 4200m2 of flooring and ceiling grids. Over 50 doors were installed along with a high volume of vanity systems, sanitaryware and cubicles. Numerous bespoke features were delivered during this project, including 17 large offices with glazed partitioning, 3 conference rooms containing complicated feature ceilings and a sizeable breakout room with custom spiral walls. To aid in reducing the premises environmental impact, cost saving PIR sensor lighting was installed throughout along with various sustainable material alternatives.

Completion

The final project was handed over with minimal snagging, a credit to Bauvill’s site management who carefully managed day-to-day works whilst upholding the expected level of quality that we impose on our projects. As a result of the meticulous planning and attention to detail, we believe that Bauvill has successfully provided Berry Gardens with premises to be proud of, delivering on the brand’s operational requirements and providing a space to welcome guests and clients for years to come.
